AAU BASKETBALL
HOOP GROUP SUMMER JAM FEST, MANHEIM PENNSYLVANIA, JULY 2022
In late April of 2022, we officially launched our AAU program. AAU without question provides high school student athletes with the best exposure to schools at the NCAA Division 1-3, Prep school, Junior college, NAIA etc.
One of the main issues with Ottawa basketball that has limited the amount of professional basketball players that come out of our city, is there isn't enough kids playing AAU basketball. Hundreds of coaches and media services come to AAU events to recruit players, and being offered a scholarship to an NCAA division 1 program could change the trajectory of a basketball player's life.
Knowing this as a professional basketball player myself who had to struggle to make my dreams of playing professionally a reality due to not having played AAU, it is a priority for OuTheMud to grow our AAU program every year to provide the best opportunity for some of our kids to become professional basketball players, or at the least get scholarships to play the game they love.
